About These Photos

In 2019, as part of a personal project, I began documenting Singapore’s hawker culture. Across many years, I tried to understand what makes hawker culture such a vital part of Singaporean society, and what exactly it stands to lose over time. Eventually, my work culminated in the release of my first photobook entitled Last Order. Shooting Last Order enabled me to engage with communities I would otherwise not have had the chance to, and to celebrate a part of Singapore so dear and personal to me.

As part of the 2021 Objectifs Shooting Home Youth Awards, I produced a mini series documenting the unseen labour behind hawkers, entitledBefore Breakfast.
