About This project

These photos are selection from a wider project documenting hawker culture in Singapore, entitled Last Order. Especially in light of Singaporean hawker culture being added to the UNESCO World Intangible Cultural Heritage List, as well as the COVID-19 pandemic, I felt like there was no better time to document the lifeblood of Singaporean culture and society.

As part of the 2021 Objectifs Shooting Home Youth Awards, I produced a mini series documenting the unseen labour behind hawkers, entitled “Before Breakfast”.
